On October 17, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07), Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with relevant units to inspect fire safety work at a building on Hoa Binh Street, District 11.
Through inspection, the authorities discovered many violations and requested the building owner to promptly correct them.

The representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that the project added 1 floor between the 1st and 2nd floors with an area of 144m2; installed the empty floor area from the 1st to 6th floors with an area of 222m2. From the 3rd to 5th floors of the building, 12 rooms were created; the rooftop created an additional swimming pool with an area of 52m2. The building also added 2 floors on the roof floor with an area of 147m2.
A representative of the Department of Planning and Investment said that through inspection, the building was providing short-term accommodation to guests (including both Vietnamese and foreign guests) but had not registered this business line.
In his concluding remarks, Colonel Huynh Ngoc Quan (Deputy Head of PC07) said that the inspection team discovered that the facility violated the change of usage function without design approval and fire prevention and fighting acceptance (stipulated in Decree 144/2021).

According to the license, this facility is a private residence but has converted its function to a residential property combined with business, office rental, and room rental.
Colonel Quan said that this is a common violation of the current type of individual housing converted for other purposes in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and in large cities across the country in general.
In the case of the above building, the Deputy Head of PC07 requested the units in the group to handle the violations and supervise the remediation process.
