The signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention with the theme "Combating Cybercrime - Sharing Responsibility - Looking Forward" will be held on October 25-26 in Hanoi, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs .
President Luong Cuong will preside over the signing ceremony of the Convention. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and senior leaders of many countries, regional and international organizations will attend the event. The signing ceremony will include a plenary discussion and a high-level discussion, along with a sideline conference on international cooperation in combating cybercrime.
This is the first time a Vietnamese place name has been associated with a global multilateral treaty related to a field of great interest to the international community, marking an important milestone in the history of Vietnam's multilateral diplomacy and the Vietnam-UN partnership.
The Hanoi Convention, consisting of 9 chapters and 71 articles, is the result of nearly 5 years of continuous and prolonged negotiations among member countries, aiming to build a comprehensive multilateral legal framework to combat cybercrime.
