Ho Chi Minh City to set off fireworks at two locations on September 2nd holiday

On September 2nd this year, the city will set off fireworks from 9pm to 9:15pm at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Duc City) and Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11).

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just approved a fireworks display program to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, following the advice of the City Command.

High-altitude fireworks will be launched at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel; low-altitude fireworks will be launched at Dam Sen Cultural Park.

Fireworks are set off in accordance with Decree 36/2009 of the Government. Accordingly, on the occasion of Lunar New Year's Eve and September 2nd, centrally-run cities and Thua Thien Hue are allowed to set off high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks; the remaining provinces can set off low-altitude fireworks; the duration must not exceed 15 minutes.

Only Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will be allowed to set off fireworks on April 30. In addition, fireworks displays on occasions such as the establishment of centrally-run provinces and cities; national and international cultural, tourism and sports events; New Year's Day... will be decided by the Prime Minister.

On the occasion of September 2 this year, Ho Chi Minh City will also organize an artistic lighting decoration program on Nguyen Hue walking street. The Department of Culture and Sports also proposed to organize a hot air balloon launch on September 2-3 on Nguyen Thien Thanh street (Thu Duc city).
