On September 22, the leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Phu Loi Ward (HCMC) said that they had just conducted a survey of the old government agency headquarters that were redundant after the merger. In particular, the headquarters of the General Statistics Office and the Irrigation Department located on Doan Thi Lien Street (Phu Loi Ward) are expected to be converted into a school.
Accordingly, the headquarters of the Binh Duong Provincial Statistics Office (old) at 63 Doan Thi Lien Street is located opposite Phu Loi Primary School; and the Binh Duong Irrigation Department (89 Doan Thi Lien Street) is located opposite Nguyen Viet Xuan Secondary School, Phu Loi Ward, and will propose to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to convert the function of the two schools as schools as mentioned.

The school is seriously short of classrooms.
Phu Loi Ward (HCMC) was merged from Phu Loi Ward, Phu Hoa Ward and part of Hiep Thanh Ward (Thu Dau Mot City, old Binh Duong) with a population of over 107,721 people.
Phu Loi Ward (HCMC) is also an area adjacent to many large industrial parks (IPs) such as VSIP 1+2; Viet Huong 1; Song Than 3; Dai Dang, Kim Huy... and has a large number of workers from all over the country coming to live.

Mr. Phan Cong Khanh, Chairman of Phu Loi Ward People's Committee, said that the current population size and the mechanical population increase have created a huge pressure on schools for students of all levels.
Specifically, Nguyen Viet Xuan Secondary School (Phu Loi Ward) in the 2025-2026 school year has 47 classes (from grade 6 to grade 9) with over 2,018 students. Meanwhile, the current facilities only have 25 classrooms and 3 subject rooms, so the school cannot meet the requirements of teaching 2 sessions/day.

According to forecasts, by the 2026-2027 school year, the number of students at Nguyen Viet Xuan Secondary School will increase to about 57 classes, equivalent to about 2,447 students, so many more classrooms will be needed.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Phu Loi Primary School has 33 classrooms with 36 classes (from grade 1 to grade 5) with 1,533 students, currently basically meeting the teaching needs of 2 sessions/day.
However, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan, Principal of Phu Loi Primary School, said that in order to have 33 classrooms as present, the school had to reduce some functional rooms to make classrooms for students, and also had to increase the number of students in each class, including classes with up to 45 students ( the education sector standard is from 35-40 students/class).
Phu Loi Primary School is having to reduce functional rooms to make classrooms and organize lunch in 3 shifts due to lack of rooms.

Notably, Phu Loi Primary School is currently having to organize lunch for boarding students in 3 shifts. "If there are more classrooms and a dining room, the school will reduce the number of students per class to ensure standards and divide lunchtime into 2 shifts so that students have more time to rest between classes," Ms. Lan shared.
In addition, the Principal of Phu Loi Primary School also said that the number of students at the school increases every school year and is expected to increase in the 2026-2027 school year, so adding classrooms and functional rooms is very necessary for the school.
