Ho Chi Minh City organizes a vegetarian festival without trash, attracting 150,000 visitors

Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association (FBA), Mr. Duong Thanh Dao, said that through the Vegetarian Food Festival, Ho Chi Minh City wants to attract 150,000 visitors in 5 days, leading the trend and lifestyle of "eating vegetarian and living healthy".

Following the success of the Vegetarian Food Festival 2023 at the Anh Sao Bridge area (old District 7) with more than 100,000 visitors, this year, Ho Chi Minh City continues to expand its scale with the Vegetarian Food Festival 2025 (Green Food Festival), taking place from October 31 to November 4, 2025 at Binh Phu Park. This is considered one of the largest and most extensive food festivals in Vietnam. The festival space covers an area of ​​more than 7 hectares, with over 200 booths.

According to the Organizing Committee representative, the long-term goal of Ho Chi Minh City is to develop and maintain the Vegetarian Food Festival as an annual tourism event, contributing to enriching the experience of tourists on their journey to explore the city. Not only is it a place to honor the quintessence of vegetarian cuisine, the festival is also expected to become a typical tourism product, attracting domestic and foreign visitors with its cultural values, culinary appeal and humanistic message. This year, the Organizing Committee aims to welcome 150,000 visitors.

Through this festival, Ho Chi Minh City wants to guide people towards a healthy vegetarian lifestyle.

This year's festival brings together a series of rich, creative activities imbued with the spirit of community connection. These include the competitions "Green Master Chef Vietnam 2025", "Green Future Chef Vietnam 2025" and "Healthy Drink Vietnam 2025" - these are playgrounds for chefs, bartenders and culinary students to create unique vegetarian dishes.

In addition, the festival space also has a vegetarian buffet area with more than 100 dishes from all 3 regions, an OCOP - Organic - Macrobiotic area; workshops, talk shows, art performances and chef demonstrations, creating a space for the intersection of cuisine, culture and tourism.

According to the organizers, the festival space is designed according to the "Green Festival without waste" model, all serving items are made from recycled materials, bio-based cups and boxes. Accompanying units will collect and process all organic waste, ensuring a clean, beautiful and sustainable environment.

"We hope that through the Vegetarian Food Festival, Ho Chi Minh City will not only be famous for its delicious dishes, but also be known as a center for spreading the green and healthy living movement. Each vegetarian dish is a message, each tourist is a messenger spreading the values ​​of love and sustainability," the Organizing Committee representative shared at the press conference on the afternoon of October 20.
