'One Hundred Years of Solitude' ends unfinished

Gabriel García Márquez's classic novel "One Hundred Years of Solitude" was adapted into a TV series by Netflix with care and attention. The work scored points thanks to its respect for the original work and convincing acting that took viewers on the tragic journey of the Buendía family.

Since then, generations of the Buendía family have been tormented and haunted by various tragedies, going through periods of prosperity and decline, and finally falling into isolation and despair.

Captivating performance

The actors in the film are not very famous but they act naturally and attractively. They do not handle the characters in an exaggerated way like some South American or Latin films, but choose a gentle and natural way of acting.

The two characters José Arcadio and Úrsula are played by different actors, corresponding to each stage of maturity. However, the actors' smooth transformations help the characters appear vividly as if they stepped out of the pages of a book.

The acting of the cast is very convincing.

Susana Morales plays the young Úrsula, bringing freshness while Marleyda Soto portrays the old Úrsula, portraying depth and maturity through life events.

Likewise, both Marco González and Diego Vásquez have plenty of enjoyable moments, successfully portraying a somewhat eccentric character like José Arcadio.

When launched, One Hundred Years of Solitude received a "shower" of praise from critics.
