Equipping students with knowledge about startups

On December 25, implementing the Government 's project and the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Education and Times Newspaper built the Wings of Dreams program for the 2023-2024 school year for high school students in Ho Chi Minh City to accompany schools in career orientation and equip them with entrepreneurial knowledge, inspiring passion and innovation in students.

Students of Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) visit the university to learn about training professions.

Accordingly, the Dream Wings program supports students in setting goals, planning their future careers, promoting dynamism, innovation, and inspiring passion and striving in the learning process. Through the program, students have the opportunity to learn and explore careers, thereby discovering and making choices that suit their interests, abilities, and family economic conditions.

At the same time, the program also improves students’ knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, thereby helping them prepare early knowledge and skills to participate in the entrepreneurial journey while still in school. In addition, the program also provides information on human resource forecasting, psychological counseling and health during exam season for students...

Students will participate in topics such as: Entrepreneurship in the digital age; discovering and developing your passion; awakening your dream; behaving intelligently on social networks; skills to adapt and prevent psychological violence online; skills to adapt and study effectively in a university environment.

At the announcement ceremony, Mr. Tran Ngoc Huy, Deputy Head of the Secondary Education Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that career counseling, support and promotion of start-ups for students right from school have been deeply concerned by the Government and all levels of agencies in recent years. These activities are not only specifically demonstrated by major policies of the Party and State but also in the establishment and formation of many start-up support funds.

According to Mr. Ngoc Huy, although career guidance and entrepreneurship promotion among students have received more attention and "more emphasis" in recent years, along with psychological counseling and mental health care activities for students, when viewed from many angles, these activities still do not meet expectations.
