Immediately after returning from Russia, on the afternoon of September 27, the champion of the Intervision 2025 international music competition, Duc Phuc, met with the press in Hanoi to share many interesting behind-the-scenes information that helped the Vietnamese representative achieve a spectacular victory.

"Two months before the contest, I "plowed through" the nearly 40-page document of the contest's rules and regulations to understand what the program wanted and what I needed to do to meet that. Then I needed to communicate it so that each member of my creative team clearly understood that desire," Duc Phuc shared.

"When I arrived in Russia, sitting in the practice room listening to the contestants practice with many representatives with great voices, I was honestly "scared". I affirmed from the beginning that if we only competed in singing and if we just stood still on stage, Duc Phuc definitely had no chance of winning. That means we need to mobilize the maximum collective strength to create a perfect and complete performance, from singing, lighting, visuals... and stage effects in general," the Intervision Champion humbly said.

Duc Phuc said that right in the first meeting with the team 2 months ago, he enthusiastically "inspired" his colleagues: "We are representing Vietnam, so we need to go there with a strong mindset, a proud spirit, a desire to excel and a determination to bring Vietnamese music to the world."

"I want to make a performance that during those 3 minutes, the audience… cannot breathe, they must be startled, must have goosebumps, must constantly say "Wow!" from beginning to end, and that "Wow!" must increase more and more! Therefore, it is necessary to use every technique, every material, every piece, every trick to make the performance as Vietnamese as possible, as traditional as possible, but also as contemporary and international as possible" - Phuc "set the task" for the "powerful" crew that he was lucky enough to "invite".

Sticking to the rules and the topic, but also having a little interesting "loophole": The contest requires no more than 6 people to be present on stage for each performance, so it will be "multiplier" on the screen. The "army" of "Thanh Giong" on the Russian stage is therefore many times larger than allowed thanks to the visual led effect.

Victory was built from countless "missing" words of each member of the Vietnamese creative team. "The original idea was the folk song Cay Truc Xinh , but both musician Ho Hoai Anh and I felt that the smooth melodies were not enough to create a strong effect. When Phu Dong Thien Vuong was formed, starting from the beautiful verse of poet Nguyen Duy with the attractive lyrics and melodies of musician Ho Hoai Anh and the catchy arrangement of Duong K, I still felt that something was missing. And so the English lyrics were later added by Orange and even a Russian sentence was quickly "saved" by the "final boss" Huy Tuan. The English lyrics with confident lyrics and positive messages from Orange really helped create a strong connection with international audiences. Rapper Phuc Du then joined in, with a contemporary rap. Duong K also "requested" more traditional instruments so that his arrangement would be both contemporary and as ethnically dense as possible... "That meticulousness is completely not redundant, so that every link and stage fits together and helps create a perfect, complete performance from start to finish," Duc Phuc shared.

According to Duc Phuc, the cost of staging the show was up to billions of VND for a crew of up to 17 people and stage effects. Of which, the cost of hiring the organizers to support the effects of 10 fire machines alone was up to nearly 2 billion VND. It is worth mentioning that this "willingness to spend" happened when Duc Phuc did not know he would win with a prize worth more than 9 billion VND. "At that time, I was willing to accept a loss, as long as I could achieve my creative ideas with the crew," he said.

Phu Dong Thien Vuong is not the music genre that The Voice 2015 Champion has been pursuing for a long time and this is the first time he has tried his hand at this "patriotic music genre". With the above victory, Duc Phuc shared with Thanh Nien that from now on he will consider paying more attention to "patriotic music" because of the positive energy and inspiration that the Intervision playground has just awakened. At the same time, the Intervision Champion decided to spend 1 billion VND from his prize money on upcoming charity activities in Vietnam.
