At 2am on December 13, the temperature in Hanoi dropped sharply, at times only about 12-14 degrees Celsius. However, many relatives of patients at Bach Mai Hospital still huddled together, trying to find ways to keep warm.

It is known that most of them are relatives of people in the Emergency Department, forced to stay outside in case the doctor comes to see them.

Two rows of seats opposite the A9 Emergency Center became temporary resting places for patients' relatives.

Blankets and mats are brought by family members to the hospital.

The later the night, the colder the wind blew, the more the patients' relatives found a place to take a nap. Many even had to sleep rough on the rows of chairs.

The man lay curled up on his wife's legs outside the A9 Emergency Center of Bach Mai Hospital. "My wife and I have been here to take care of our sick mother for several days now. This cold weather has caused us a lot of difficulties, not only because of the cold but also because we have to wait while worrying about our mother's health."

Next to the stone bench many people sleep along the hospital corridor.

Some patients' relatives prepared mosquito nets so they could have a place to take a nap and avoid the cold.

"I'm sitting here in case of an emergency and the doctor calls me," said the patient's family member.

The patient's family brought all their belongings to the hospital.

By about 3am, the temperature had dropped to about 12 degrees Celsius. Those who did not bring enough warm clothes had to find a sheltered place to avoid the cold wind.

In other areas, some lie on stone benches or hang mosquito nets and spread mats along the building's corridors as places to spend the night.

The yard and corridor area of ​​building 07, Department of Neurology, Bach Mai Hospital, has many tents of patients' relatives. They try to create a temporary resting space to conveniently care for and monitor the health of their relatives.

Many people had to stretch extra tarps outside the tent to block the wind.

For those who couldn't sleep, they took the opportunity to go outside to rest and eat to ease the cold.
