Awarding ceremony of the Poetry and Songwriting Contest about Vietnam's cryptography industry

On the evening of August 21, the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the Poetry and Songwriting Contest about the Vietnamese Cryptography Industry took place solemnly at the Hall of the Cryptography Academy (No. 141 Chien Thang, Thanh Liet Ward, Hanoi City).

Lieutenant General Vu Ngoc Thiem presented a special prize to author Do Van An, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Government Cipher Committee.

The poetry and songwriting contest about the Vietnamese cryptography industry is one of the key activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Cryptography Industry (September 12, 1945 - September 12, 2025). The contest was officially launched in April 2024, aiming to encourage the movement of literary and artistic creation inside and outside the industry; honor traditional values, deeply reflecting the image of cryptography officers and employees in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The contest has received enthusiastic responses from authors inside and outside the cryptography industry. Some typical units have implemented extensively, with many participating works such as: Cryptography Department (General Staff), Telecommunications and Cryptography Department ( Ministry of Public Security ). Some localities with many participating works include Hanoi, Da Nang; Nghe An, Bac Ninh provinces...

After 1 year of launching, many professional artists, musicians and amateur authors of different ages have submitted their works to participate. At the end of the launching period, the Organizing Committee received 207 poems from 108 authors and 50 songs from 29 authors. Most of the entries were seriously invested in quality, strictly followed the contest rules, and expressed the authors' deep affection for the Vietnamese cryptographic industry.

The entries have correctly expressed the content, requirements, and rich topics, praising the traditions, contributions, and achievements of the cryptographic force, while skillfully portraying the image of cryptographic officers on the fronts of studying, working, producing, and researching cryptographic science and technology; especially promptly reflecting the breath of life and contributions of the Vietnamese cryptographic industry in the new period, the era of national growth.

The contest's jury includes well-known poets and musicians, such as: Musician Truong Quy Hai; Musician Vu Thiet, Executive Committee Member of the Hanoi Music Association; Poet Doan Van Mat, Head of the Poetry Committee and poet Nguyen Thi Kim Nhung (Army Literature Magazine)... The jury has selected 38 works by 33 best authors and co-authors to propose awards and commendations.

The poems and songs from the contest are also a call for the young generation of cryptography officers today and tomorrow to continue to strive, contribute, and embellish the 10 golden words of the Vietnamese cryptography industry: "Loyalty, dedication, solidarity, discipline, creativity".
