At the conference, trainees were introduced to the 2026 Economic Census Plan; Procedures for compiling a list of individual production and business establishments; Instructions on how to fill out a list of individual production and business establishments; Instructions on determining and checking industry codes; Instructions on reviewing and updating the list of survey units; religious and belief establishments; cooperatives; non-public career units; associations; Instructions on using and practicing the General Census management website; Practice using CAPI to collect information on the list of individual production and business establishments.
The 2026 Economic Census aims to collect comprehensive information to assess the development in quantity, scale and labor of economic establishments; production and business results; the level of application of information technology and digital transformation; the structure and distribution of establishments and labor by locality, economic sector, economic type and ownership form to meet the management and operation requirements of the Party, State, ministries, branches and localities.
The enumeration work is one of the important and key stages, playing a fundamental role for the entire Census, helping to ensure the accurate listing of survey units. The quality of the enumeration determines the accuracy and completeness of the collected data.
Through the conference, we will be fully equipped with knowledge, skills, and procedures for making lists to ensure proper implementation of the General Census Plan, correct identification of survey units, and improvement of the quality of collected data.
According to the plan, the Census will take place in two phases in 2026. The first phase will be conducted from January 5 to March 31, 2026, focusing on individual non-agricultural, forestry and fishery production and business establishments, cooperatives and religious and belief establishments. The second phase will take place from April 1 to July 31, 2026, for enterprises, non-public service units, associations, as well as branches and representative offices of foreign enterprises and organizations. The preliminary results of the Census are expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2027, while the official report will be announced in the third quarter of the same year.
