Busting an illegal drug trafficking den on Ly Son Island

On June 25, Ly Son Border Guard Station (Border Guard of Quang Ngai province) said that the unit had just destroyed a location specializing in organizing the illegal buying, selling, storing and using of drugs in Ly Son island district (Quang Ngai).

Previously, at around 9:30 p.m. on June 23, while patrolling and ensuring security and order in Dong An Vinh village (Ly Son district), the patrol team of Ly Son Border Guard Station discovered Nguyen Cong Dinh (25 years old, in Dong An Hai village, Ly Son district) with many unusual signs. The functional forces, through administrative inspection, discovered that Dinh was holding 2 plastic bags containing a white crystalline solid substance.

Dinh confessed to the authorities that the crystalline solid inside the two plastic bags was methamphetamine. Dinh received the drugs from Dang Quang Phung (26 years old, in Tay An Vinh village, Ly Son district) and then delivered them to another person in the area. While waiting for the person to receive them, he was checked and arrested by the authorities.

Afterwards, Ly Son Border Guard Station coordinated with Ly Son District People's Procuracy and Ly Son District Police to urgently search Dang Quang Phung's residence. Here, the authorities discovered and seized 1 green sample weighing about 181.65 grams (including packaging) and 7 plastic bags containing a white crystalline solid weighing about 84.98 grams suspected to be drugs.

At the time of searching Phung's house, the authorities discovered that Ho Van Xuan (26 years old, from Ly Son District) was in a state of "high" on drugs. According to Xuan's statement, before the time of the search, Xuan, Phung and some other people were using drugs in Phung's bedroom. When they discovered the authorities, some people fled.

The case is still being investigated by the authorities.
