Closing the 4 quarter-finals of the Pro men's singles of the PPA Vietnam Open 2025 - the final leg of the PPA Tour Asia, the 2 semi-final pairs were determined to be the home matches of host Vietnam on the morning of September 5, in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the quarter-finals, both players Phuc Huynh and Trinh Linh Giang did not encounter much difficulty in advancing.
Specifically, PPA Malaysia Open 2025 champion Trinh Linh Giang defeated Japanese player Kenta Miyoshi 2-0 (11-5, 11-6). Meanwhile, Phuc Huynh continued to show impressive form when he defeated PPA Hong Kong (China) champion Jack Wong for the second time, this time with a score of 2-0 (11-2, 11-5).
The remaining two quarter-final matches were full of drama as Vinh Hien came from behind to defeat Indian player Aditya Ruhela in three tense sets, winning 2-1 (10-12, 9-11, 3-11).
In the Vietnam internal match, Ly Hoang Nam and Dac Tien brought a thrilling match. After three fiercely fought sets, Hoang Nam's courage spoke up at the right time, helping him win 2-1 (12-10, 2-11, 11-3) and enter the semi-finals.
Thus, the two semi-final matches were determined to be the matches of Trinh Linh Giang and Phuc Huynh, and Ly Hoang Nam and Truong Vinh Hien, respectively.
Meanwhile, the only Vietnamese representative in the Pro women's singles, Sophia Tran, had to stop in the quarterfinals. This afternoon, the matches in the mixed men's and women's event will take place in the round of 16, Linh Giang will pair with Ken Tam, Sophia Phuong Anh will pair with Indian player Aryaan Bhatia while Le Xuan Duc - Yufei Long.
