Xiangyang Medical Center was heavily flooded, 140 patients were urgently evacuated by boat.

On the morning of July 23, Mr. Vy Xuan Chien - Director of Tuong Duong Medical Center said that all patients trapped by floods had been evacuated to safety.

The selected evacuation point is Khe Chi school, belonging to Thach Giam Kindergarten (Tuong Duong commune).

Previously, from around 3am on July 23, water began to flood into the Center's campus. By 5am, almost the entire first floor was flooded, completely isolating 13 officers, doctors, nurses, medical staff, and 140 patients and their families.

However, having predicted the situation, from the evening of July 22, the Center and the patient's family proactively moved all patients, machines and medical equipment to the 2nd floor.

Mr. Chien added that currently, 2 of the unit’s cars are completely submerged, and the main medicine warehouse is also seriously affected. Although the water is gradually receding, the specific damage has not yet been calculated.

It is expected that medical examination and treatment at the Center will be significantly affected in the coming time.
