On the morning of November 18, within the framework of the program "General Secretary To Lam meets with representatives of teachers and education managers on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20", the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam sent his congratulations and deep gratitude to generations of teachers across the country on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day, November 20, and acknowledged the encouraging achievements in educational innovation, especially in the field of higher education. These innovations are associated with increasing autonomy, improving training quality in accordance with the requirements of the labor market as well as promoting scientific research and technology transfer. In addition, more and more Vietnamese higher education institutions and training sectors have achieved high rankings in the region and internationally.
From there, the General Secretary believes, "With a country and a nation with a tradition of loving learning, valuing talents, a team of dedicated teachers, loving their profession, ready to sacrifice, attached to their profession, and the decisive and synchronous participation of the entire political system, the entire education sector will overcome all difficulties, overcome all challenges, and successfully carry out the reform of education and training."

Within the framework of the program, General Secretary To Lam awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi for its contributions to training, scientific research and technology transfer, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland. This is a noble reward for the tireless efforts of the teachers and students of the University of Economics (VNU).

After 50 years of construction and development, the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, originating from the Faculty of Political Economy of Hanoi National University in 1974, has steadily gone through a long and proud journey with many marks. From the early days with the mission of training human resources in the field of political economy, the School has constantly grown, flexibly adapted to every stage of change of the country, developing into multi-disciplinary training in economics and business.

The University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-UEB) with a strong strategy of internationalizing education, undergraduate and postgraduate training programs with outstanding quality, aiming for world-class accreditation, research results are transferred to the Government, businesses and published in international publications. With a consistent educational philosophy and orientation, the University's students and learners are internationally integrated citizens, but still imbued with the Vietnamese national identity, with enough Heart - Virtue - Intelligence - Talent to serve the Fatherland.
In 2021-2022, the University of Economics is the pioneer, the main force, leading the way to bring the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the first and only public training institution in Vietnam to be honored in the THE and QS rankings in the fields of Economics and Business (501-600), Business and Management Sciences (501-550). In 2024, the University of Economics will continue to make a key contribution to bringing the field of Economics and Econometrics of VNU into the world QS rankings for the first time (451-500).
To enter the era of national development, the University of Economics has strongly promoted university autonomy resources from within and made the most of international integration opportunities from without by promoting research exchange activities and policy consulting. Notably, the series of Vietnam Economic Forums with countries around the world, which have been highly appreciated for their quality by international organizations and recognized by Party and Government leaders for their outstanding achievements in the past 5 years.
Many of the School's scientific research and policy advice have been commercialized, transferred into practice and published at forums organized by the School, such as the Vietnam - Germany Economic and Trade Forum (2021), Vietnam - UK Economic Forum (2021, 2023), Vietnam - Korea Economic Forum (2022), Vietnam - France Economic Forum (2022), Vietnam - Italy Economic Forum (2023), Vietnam - Europe Economic Forum (2023), Vietnam - Russian Federation Economic Forum (2024), Vietnam Maritime Economic Conference (2023, 2024), and the series of Vietnam Annual Economic Reports (from 2008 to 2024). This series of events has resonated greatly in the academic community, economists and politicians, opening up many important solutions to global issues such as climate change, low-carbon economy, energy security, food security, and international trade agreements such as FTA, EVFTA, UKVFTA, CPTPP, BRICS...
In 2024, the University of Economics (VNU) successfully added Econometrics, one of the difficult fields, to the QS Top 451-500 Ranking, continuing to affirm that Vietnamese education is capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.
