At the Workshop to collect opinions from relevant parties on output standards and university training programs expected to enroll students in 2026 (October 9), Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang - Principal of the University of Commerce said that in the context of digital transformation and the strong spread of artificial intelligence (AI), the school has decided to open a Computer Science major and develop a training program (CTĐT) on Artificial Intelligence Applications in Business. These programs are expected to enroll students from the 2026 school year.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang, over the past two years, the University of Commerce has carefully prepared its teaching staff, facilities, teaching content and cooperation mechanisms with strategic partners to ensure the program is implemented effectively, practically and sustainably.
The opening of the new major is considered a timely response to the need for human resources in the digital age, while also marking a strategic turning point, affirming the pioneering role and long-term vision of the University of Commerce in innovating Vietnam's higher education .

Also according to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang, in 2025, the University of Commerce will continue to develop 3 international professional orientation training programs (IPOP), including: Logistics and Multimodal Transport Management (under Logistics and Supply Chain Management); Event and Entertainment Services Management (under Tourism and Travel Services Management); Data Analysis in Economics and Business (under Digital Economy).
These programs are designed according to international standards, focusing on vocational skills and technology application capabilities, aiming to train high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of integration and development of the national digital economy.
Currently, the faculties/specialized institutes of the University of Commerce have completed the draft output standards and training programs. Dr. Nguyen Duy Hong - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Logistics Human Resources Development Association - commented that the school's organization of a seminar to solicit social opinions on training work is a wise step, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and the policy of socializing education, with the participation of the State - school - enterprise.

“This is the way to determine whether current training programs can truly meet both short-term and long-term human resource needs,” Dr. Nguyen Duy Hong emphasized, adding that training institutions need to strengthen closer links with businesses throughout the entire training and internship process. This not only helps students access professional practice early, but also creates an effective bridge between training and the labor market.
In that spirit, Dr. Nguyen Duy Hong proposed that schools should develop specific output standards, and at the same time invite businesses to participate in evaluating learners, building training programs and organizing simulation projects, part-time or full-time projects. Thereby, students can experience real work while still in school.

“After graduation, students who have participated in these joint programs will have the opportunity to access official positions and receive more systematic and professional training at businesses,” emphasized Dr. Nguyen Duy Hong.
By 2025, the University of Commerce has built and enrolled 15 IPOP training programs out of a total of 45 university-level training programs. The IPOP training program is designed in a modern manner, linked to the requirements of training high-quality human resources, and is a breakthrough in the innovation of the University's training programs.

In fact, IPOP training programs have received support and cooperation in training from many business partners; at the same time, they have also received attention and positive reviews from parents and students, as shown through the very encouraging enrollment results of the School in the past 2 years.
These successes have created a foundation for the School to continue expanding the IPOP training program to fields with strong development trends and high social demand, such as: Logistics and Multimodal Transport Management; Event Management and Entertainment Services; Data Analysis in Economics and Business.
