In 2024, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (HCMC) continues to enroll students nationwide with a total expected target of 1,480 students. The regular university enrollment target for all majors is allocated 50% for HCMC to meet the city's medical human resource needs, the remaining 50% is for all provinces and cities outside HCMC.

Many conditions for admission registration

The specific conditions for admission registration for each major are determined by the school. After the admission results are available, the school will check the admission application. If the candidate does not fully and accurately meet the information in the application, the school has the right to refuse the application.

The general admission condition for all majors is that candidates' conduct in grade 12 of high school must be good or higher.

To apply for the optometry major, candidates must have a high school graduation exam score of 7.0 or higher in English.

Admission quotas are allocated according to the admission methods of considering high school graduation exam results: 1,378 quotas; direct admission: 32 quotas; priority admission: 70 quotas (for Lao and Cambodian students studying abroad under the protocol).

The criteria of the methods can be considered to complement each other when considering by industry.

During the application processing process, the admission results of the TP/TQ admission codes will be based on the results of the admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training.

(**) Candidates applying for this major must ensure that their high school graduation exam score in English is 7.0 or higher.

High school graduation exam subjects according to admission subject groups: B00 (math, chemistry, biology); B03 (math, biology, literature); A00 (math, physics, chemistry).

Admission principles

Candidates can register their wishes for many majors, the wishes are arranged in order of priority from high to low. In case of many wishes that meet the admission requirements, the candidate will only be recognized as successful and called for admission according to the highest wish.

Total admission score: is the total score of the exams according to the admission subject group on a 30-point scale (no coefficient) and the total priority score (if any) according to regulations and rounded to two decimal places.

Admission score: is the lowest admission score that a candidate is considered to have passed, but not lower than the threshold score to ensure input quality of the corresponding major admission code (if any).

Principles for determining priority points: In case a candidate has a foreign language certificate in accordance with regulations, he/she is exempted from the high school graduation exam in foreign language and the certificate information is fully updated on the admission portal of the Ministry of Education and Training, it will be converted to 10 points when considering the conditions related to the foreign language exam score.

The school does not resolve cases where candidates do not update foreign language certificate information into the admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The school applies additional criteria for consideration in cases where candidates have the same total admission score, priority is given in the following order: high school graduation exam score in foreign language according to the 2024 high school graduation exam regulations, high school graduation exam score in literature in 2024.

The above tuition fees do not include 2 compulsory subjects, physical education and national defense and security education, which are collected according to current regulations. The tuition fee can be adjusted up to 15% annually.
