Uncle Ho Statue in Phu Quoc before inauguration day

TPO - The inauguration ceremony of Uncle Ho's Statue is expected to take place on the morning of May 19 - Uncle Ho's birthday, at Ho Chi Minh Square, Duong Dong Ward, Phu Quoc City. This is a project of special significance, expressing the people's love for President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the islands in the Southwest sea.

Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho statue are built in Duong Dong ward, Phu Quoc city, with a scale of 7.45 hectares, planned to build an urban center, trade - service, international passenger seaport, new centralized administrative area of ​​Phu Quoc city.

The statue of Uncle Ho is 20.7m high; the bronze alloy statue of Uncle Ho is 18m high, the bronze alloy base is 0.3m high, the natural stone pedestal is 2.4m high. The statue of Uncle Ho places his right hand on his left chest, symbolizing the meaning "The South is in my heart". The statue of Uncle Ho was crafted in the traditional bronze casting village of Ý Yên district, Nam Định province.

The statue represents the spirit of a national leader, whose feelings are always directed towards the South. The height of the statue meets the requirements of harmony with the vast sea and island space of Phu Quoc.

Behind the Uncle Ho statue is a series of reliefs consisting of 484 stone panels. The relief has 2 sides: The front side is images of famous landscapes and landmarks from the 17th parallel south associated with Uncle Ho's life and activities; the back side is images of famous landscapes and landmarks associated with Kien Giang, affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands from Sa Vi cape (Quang Ninh) to Tho Chau island, Phu Quoc city.

The Ho Chi Minh President Exhibition House has three parts: The story about the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh; about his deep and sacred affection for the people and soldiers of the South and his concern for preserving and protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

The inauguration ceremony of Uncle Ho's statue is expected to take place on the morning of May 19 at Ho Chi Minh Square, Duong Dong Ward, Phu Quoc City, on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday.

The inauguration of the Uncle Ho statue also contributes to promoting the cultural values, historical traditions and development potential, tourism products of Kien Giang province in general and the coastal tourist city and island of Phu Quoc in particular to the people of the whole country and international friends.
