Remembering the Vietnamese heroes and soldiers who performed international duties in Xiangkhoang

Taking place from July 25-27, the Grand Ceremony to commemorate the 78th anniversary of Vietnam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day held in Xiangkhoang province (Laos) is a special program with profound meaning to commemorate the heroes, officers and soldiers who performed international duties, contributing to protecting peace and fostering friendship between the two countries.

The ceremony was organized by the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in coordination with the Coordination and Cooperation Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Laos, the Lao Buddhist Alliance of Xiangkhoang province, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province and the Vietnamese community in Xiangkhoang.

Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam, representatives of Buddhist organizations of the two countries, leaders of Xiangkhoang province, representatives of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association, Veterans Association, Vietnamese associations in Laos, along with a large number of Buddhists, overseas Vietnamese and local people.

In a solemn atmosphere, the lantern ceremony was performed according to the traditional Buddhist rituals of Vietnam and Laos. Thousands of lanterns were lit, creating a sparkling and sacred scene. The Buddhist monks and nuns of Vietnam and Laos performed the ceremony to pray for peace , safety and commemorate the merits of those who contributed to building the independence and freedom of the two countries.

On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam, along with representatives of the Buddhist Sangha and local leaders, presented hundreds of gifts to families with meritorious services, relatives of martyrs and children in difficult circumstances in Xiangkhoang. The gifts demonstrate the companionship and sharing of Vietnam-Laos friendship.

Right after the meaningful gift-giving ceremony for policy families and children in special circumstances, delegates attended the Lantern Festival to commemorate Vietnamese and Lao heroes and martyrs - a profound spiritual activity imbued with the Buddhist cultural values ​​of the two nations.
