The report at the Conference said that after merging with Quang Nam province, Da Nang city became the largest urban area in the country with an area of nearly 12,000 km2 and a population of more than 3 million people. The city owns a strategic infrastructure system including two airports, two class I seaports, Nam Giang international border gate and a traffic network connecting the North - South and the East - West economic corridor. Da Nang is not only the economic heart of the Central region but also an important maritime gateway to the East Sea, the eastern end of the East - West Economic Corridor, making it a natural logistics hub for the entire Mekong sub-region.

The implementation of the Free Trade Zone covering nearly 1,900 hectares with seven modern functional areas, directly connecting Lien Chieu Port, the international airport, the high-tech zone and the International Financial Center will open up new development space. This commercial zone forms a dynamic, deeply integrated commercial - industrial - service ecosystem, creating an important boost to help the city make a breakthrough in investment cooperation, production and export.
Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, shared at the conference: "This is an opportunity for domestic and foreign enterprises to meet, exchange, seek partners, expand the market, and at the same time, it is also an opportunity for Da Nang to introduce its image, potential and advantages to international friends. The city believes that the conference will open up many new cooperation opportunities, contributing to promoting trade, investment and export activities, creating strong growth momentum for the city and the region."

Mr. Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), informed that Vietnam's total export turnover in the past 8 months reached nearly 305 billion USD, an increase of 14.4% over the same period in 2024. Mr. Tai suggested that Da Nang should make the most of the mechanisms, policies and resources to develop the Da Nang Free Trade Zone. At the same time, the city needs to build a priority mechanism for export enterprises, promote deep processing industries, high technology, logistics, cross-border e-commerce; implement policies to attract foreign investment and link with FDI enterprises. The city also needs to promote the application of information technology and digital transformation, forming e-commerce platforms, smart warehouses, and smart supply chain management systems.
Within the framework of the conference, Vietnamese Trade Counselors abroad shared information on market trends, recommendations on protection and product quality. Two in-depth discussion sessions took place on “International context and export promotion orientation for the period 2025-2030” and “Regional linkage and logistics development solutions associated with free trade zones, new driving force for exports in the Central region”.
Also at the conference, 39 businesses displayed and exhibited their products and export goods. The conference also promoted support for three pairs of businesses to exchange, work and sign contracts in principle/Memorandum of Understanding to supply products and services.
In particular, the Department of Industry and Trade - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City - Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Da Nang City signed a Memorandum of Understanding on tripartite cooperation to support women enterprises in accessing domestic and foreign markets, promoting trade promotion, developing Vietnamese brands and participating more deeply in the local commodity value chain. The conference is one of the events within the framework of the International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair of the East-West Economic Corridor - Da Nang 2025.
