About the content of the letter with the theme "Imagine you are the ocean"

This year's contest prompt: "IMAGINE YOU ARE THE OCEAN. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of you."

This is a good topic, relevant to current events, the content can be expanded or go into specific details. With this topic, candidates can freely develop their imagination and knowledge; at the same time, they also have the opportunity to express their thoughts and recommendations to protect and care for a sustainable ocean environment.

The contest theme is associated with the goal of "Conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources" in the system of 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.

With this topic, students need to understand what the ocean is and be able to state the basics of the current ocean situation, and present pressing issues, the most prominent of which is marine pollution. The entry can provide an overview of the current pollution situation, or delve into one aspect, the impact of the pollution problem, for example, the risk of losing rare marine species due to pollution, shrinking coral reefs, etc. Most importantly, students need to express their thoughts on this situation and propose possible solutions to improve the situation.

The essay asks "imagine you are the ocean", but candidates can assume they are the entire ocean, or a part or component that lives in the ocean, has a direct relationship in the ocean ecosystem, for example, an individual turtle, for example, a particularly polluted sea area...

Regarding the outline of the letter, in the opening part, there should be a greeting and an introduction to the person you will choose to portray "who I am".

The letterhead also needs to have a recipient. This recipient must be a companion who shares with you, has the ability to convey the letter's message widely, or is a person who has the ability to strongly influence society, has the ability to make decisions to improve the issues that the letter will mention. The recipient can also be a representative of a force that plays an important role in the sustainable development of the ocean, such as environmental protection organizations, the United Nations, world youth ....

The body of the letter should include an introduction to the topic to be written about. In this section, students should be able to fully address the issues such as the reason for writing the letter; the current situation, personal thoughts, and solutions to protect the ocean sustainably. The letter should have a message when you choose a character to impersonate, and that message will be conveyed in this section....

At the end of the letter is your best wishes to the recipient, neatly summarizing the message conveyed, expressing beautiful hopes for the future. At the end of the letter should be phrases expressing feelings such as respect, affection, love... The author also needs to sign at this end.
