IUU propaganda for fishermen in Ly Son special economic zone, Quang Ngai province

DNO - Continuing the survey program to grasp the situation of the sea and near-shore islands in 2025, on October 15, in Ly Son special zone (Quang Ngai province), the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 held a conference to propagate sea and islands; regulations against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing for fishermen in the special zone.

At the program, the reporter informed cadres, civil servants, public employees, fishing boat owners, fishermen, and people about the situation of maritime security; the Party's viewpoints and policies on maritime and island sovereignty in the new situation; the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, the Law on Fisheries; and propagated and raised awareness among fishermen about legal regulations on preventing and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

At the same time, handbooks and leaflets on legal propaganda were distributed to fishing boats and fishermen.

* On the same day, the working delegation visited the An Hai boat anchorage area (Ly Son special zone), visited and encouraged fishermen, presented national flags and gifts to outstanding boat owners who went offshore.

The activity contributes to encouraging the spirit of fishermen to firmly stick to the sea, persistently develop the economy and participate in protecting sovereignty over the seas of the Fatherland.

* Previously, the working delegation and officers and soldiers of ship 390, under the Command of Coast Guard Region 2, offered flowers and incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs at the Ly Son Special Zone Martyrs' Cemetery.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation respectfully bowed before the souls of the martyrs - the outstanding sons who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the peace and happiness of the people.

On this occasion, the delegation offered incense at the Hoang Sa Fleet Exhibition House, which manages Bac Hai, to express deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of previous generations.

This is also an opportunity for today's and future generations to engrave and promote patriotism, following in the footsteps of their ancestors in the cause of building and firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands.
