During the recent FIFA Days, because coach Kim Sang Sik was busy directing U23 Vietnam to compete in the 2026 U23 Asia qualifiers, the Vietnamese team decided not to play an official international friendly match in September.

Instead, the "Golden Star Warriors" had two practice matches with Nam Dinh Blue Steel and CAHN, but these matches were not recognized by FIFA, so they were not counted for points. Therefore, the points on the FIFA rankings did not change.
Vietnam team dropped 1 place, from 113 to 114 in the world , because of strong breakthroughs by Madagascar and Libya. Madagascar rose to 108th (+7 places), while Libya ranked 112th (+5 places).
Despite not playing an official match, Vietnam still maintains a safe distance from the Southeast Asian teams behind. Indonesia beat Taiwan (China) but drew with Lebanon, adding only 3.43 points and dropping one place to 119 in the world. Malaysia also gained points but did not improve much in the ranking.

The top team in Southeast Asia is still Thailand. The "War Elephants" even moved up one place to 101st place, after a win (against Fiji) and a loss to Iraq in the final of the King's Cup 2025.
Coach Kim Sang Sik and his students have a great opportunity to improve their ranking in October when they have two more matches against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
