With two absolute victories and a clean sheet record (winning 5-0 against Guam, 1-0 against Hong Kong (China), the Vietnam U17 women's team impressively ended the qualifying round of Group D and officially won a ticket to the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Finals.
With this result, the Vietnam U17 women's team became the fifth Vietnamese football team to qualify for the continental finals so far this year, after the U20 women's team, women's team, futsal team and national U23 team.
Speaking after the Vietnam U17 women's team officially won a ticket to the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Finals, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his players expressed satisfaction at completing the set goal.
Sharing with the media after the match on the afternoon of October 17, coach Okiyama Masahiko said: "First of all, we won two victories and completed the goal of qualifying for the final round. The team played with concentration and did not concede a goal in both matches. I am very proud of the fighting spirit and efforts of the whole team."

The player who scored the only goal in the final match against Hong Kong (China), Hai Yen, could not hide her joy: "I am very happy that the team has entered the next round. The whole team prepared carefully for the match and everyone tried their best. Even though there were times when we did not understand each other, the whole team communicated to coordinate better in attack and scored a goal."
Revealing the instructions of coach Okiyama Masahiko during the break, Hai Yen shared: "The coach said if you try hard, you can do it. The team always plays with the spirit of never giving up. If the whole team is united, we will have good results. We had many opportunities but did not take full advantage. I am very proud to have brought victory to the team."

Hai Yen also emphasized that the training trip to Germany before the tournament was a valuable asset to help the team mature: "From the beginning of the training session, the whole team was determined to continue. The trip to Germany helped us learn a lot of experience when competing with our seniors. After the tournament, whoever returns to the club will continue to improve themselves, try to overcome weaknesses to do better in the next training session."

In the remaining period of 2025, Vietnamese football and the Vietnam U17 team will participate in the 2026 U17 Asian qualifiers in November.
With the determination to win a ticket to the 2026 AFC U17 Men's Championship, the VFF will continue to increase investment in the team, including a training trip to Japan to improve the professional quality and international competition skills of young players.
