U20 Vietnam won "3 stars" against U20 Guam

After a resounding 5-0 victory over U20 Bhutan in the opening match, U20 Vietnam continued to win by defeating U20 Guam 3-0, thereby reclaiming the top spot in Group A of the 2025 AFC U20 Championship qualifiers from U20 Syria.

Evaluating the match, coach Hua Hien Vinh said: "I am satisfied with the players' spirit, but at some points they were a bit fussy. If they were more careful, they could have taken advantage of the opportunity to score, especially when the other team was playing with one less player. That is what we need to improve."

"In this tournament, every team wants to score points. In the first match, we struggled against Bhutan until the second half when we increased the score. In the last match, their playing style improved, while Guam played very well and persistently searched for goals," coach Hua Hien Vinh commented on the opponents.

In this match, Cong Phuong continued to receive the title of best player of the match. The young midfielder of The Cong Viettel said: "Although we won, we still have many shortcomings in finishing and need to improve. I feel very happy to score in this match".

Meanwhile, U20 Guam coach Dominic Gadia had no complaints about goalkeeper Josiah Jones' red card: "When you make a mistake, you have to get a card. Even though we lost a player, our reserve goalkeeper played well. I didn't expect this situation.

I don't think U20 Vietnam continued to attack. We created chances. I'm proud of my players. They did everything they could."

Talking about U20 Vietnam, the captain of U20 Guam affirmed: "I have a good impression of the entire Vietnamese team. They have good technique, Vietnamese football is very progressive. They try hard, but Guam is a competitive team. Vietnam is a strong team in Southeast Asia but we also continue to move forward."
