Conditions for U20 Vietnam to win tickets to the 2025 AFC U20 Championship

The group stage of U20 Vietnam in the 2025 U20 Asian qualifiers will take place from September 21 at Lach Tray Stadium ( Hai Phong ). Despite having home field advantage, U20 Vietnam will still have to make great efforts to win a ticket to the final round when group A still has a formidable opponent, U20 Syria.

In terms of skill level, U20 Vietnam is considered to be better than the other teams in the same group such as U20 Bangladesh, U20 Butan and U20 Guam. However, U20 Syria will be the direct competitor for the ticket to the final round.

In the FIFA rankings, the Syrian team is ranked 93rd while the Vietnamese team is currently ranked 115th. Therefore, the match between U20 Vietnam and U20 Syria on September 29 is considered the "final" of the group.

If they can beat U20 Syria to win the top spot in the group, U20 Vietnam will definitely qualify for the 2025 AFC U20 Championship. If they finish second in the group, U20 Vietnam will have to compete in the top 5 second-placed teams. Therefore, U20 Vietnam must try to win all three first matches with the best possible goal difference before facing U20 Syria.
