U23 Vietnam reviews forces for SEA Games 33

According to the plan built early by the Vietnam Football Federation, the Vietnam U23 team will gather again from October 4 in Hanoi, parallel with the national team's training session during FIFA Days in October 2025.

Accordingly, this is one of the key preparation steps towards two major goals in 2026: SEA Games 33 in Thailand and the U23 Asian Finals in Saudi Arabia.

The list of players this time continues to maintain many familiar faces such as Pham Ly Duc, Le Van Thuan, Nguyen Van Truong, Nguyen Ngoc My... These players performed well in the recent U23 Asia qualifying round and are gradually asserting their role in the team's tactical framework.

Notably, this gathering saw the appearance of a new player, Nguyen Vadim, a new recruit fromSHB Da Nang club. Born in 2005 in Russia to a Vietnamese father and a Russian mother, Vadim is 1m75 tall and can play flexibly in both winger and center positions.

He is considered one of the potential young talents of SHB Da Nang in the 2025/2026 season. With the presence of Vadim, the Vietnam U23 team now has three overseas Vietnamese players: Tran Thanh Trung, Le Viktor and Nguyen Vadim, opening up many expectations for quality additions to the squad in the near future.

As head coach Kim Sang Sik is currently in charge of training the national team in preparation for two matches against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, the right to direct the Vietnam U23 team this time continues to be assigned to acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh.

According to the plan, U23 Vietnam will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center until October 7 before leaving for the UAE. During the training trip here, the team will have two quality friendly matches with U23 Qatar on October 9 and 13.

This is an important opportunity for the coaching staff to continue reviewing the team's strength, perfecting the playing style, and helping the players accumulate international competition experience in order to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals with the best preparation.
