Reuters quoted a statement from a Ukrainian official saying that the country's air defense forces intercepted all Russian missiles aimed at the capital Kiev, but did not announce specific numbers.

"We have not received any information about casualties or damage," Serhiy Popko, head of the military department of the capital Kiev, said on the morning of June 13.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced that it had successfully intercepted 10 out of 14 Russian cruise missiles in the airstrike on the night of June 12. In addition, a suicide UAV was also shot down.

Ukrainian officials in the Kharkiv region and the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih also reported Russian airstrikes.

"There has been a massive rocket attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih. There have been deaths and injuries," Dnipro Governor Serhiy Lisak said.

Kryvyi Rih Mayor Oleksandr Vilkiul said that many civil buildings in the city were hit by Russian missiles and people were trapped under the rubble.

The mayor of Kharkov said a Russian UAV crashed into a warehouse and a utility company building, but there were no reports of casualties.

The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the latest airstrikes.

The airstrikes came as the Ukrainian army launched a large-scale counter-offensive in Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk provinces.
