The only candidate proposed by the Literature Professor Council for recognition as associate professor in 2025 is Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam, born in 1975; hometown Thang Tam, Vung Tau, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (old).
According to the records provided by the State Council of Professors, Ms. Tam is the Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi; majoring in Literary Theory and History.
She is also a visiting lecturer at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hue ; University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Ms. Tam received her bachelor's degree in Literature (majoring in Vietnamese Literature) in 1997; her master's degree in the same major in 2002; and her doctorate in Philology (majoring in Theory and History of Literature) in 2007.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam did research at the Department of Literature, Institute of Social Sciences in Ho Chi Minh City (1997-1999); taught at the Faculty of Literature and Journalism (later the Faculty of Literature and Language), University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (2000-2010); participated in a graduate program in the US (2004-2005) and studied Japanese studies at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies - Japan (2010-2011).
From September 2011 to June 2012, she taught at the Faculty of Literature and Languages, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
From July 2012 to March 2016, she was a lecturer, Head of the Department of Literature, Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Then, from April 2016 to March 2018, she was a part-time associate professor at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan.
From July 2018 to June 2025, she worked at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, holding the following positions: Head of the Department of Vietnamese Literature and Arts (2018-2022), Deputy Dean (2018-2020), Deputy Dean in charge (2020-2021) and Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Language (2021-2025).
Ms. Tam's main research directions include: Vietnamese literature in the East Asian context; Religion in relation to literature, philosophy, aesthetics; Vietnamese language and Vietnamese studies.
Regarding training and scientific research results, Ms. Tam has supervised (assistantly) a doctoral student to successfully defend his doctoral thesis; supervised (mainly) 7 graduate students to successfully defend their master's theses. She also completed 8 scientific research topics from the basic level and above; of which, she was in charge of 3 basic level topics, 1 State level project, 2 National University level projects, 1 Ministry level project.
She has published 41 scientific articles, including 2 in prestigious international journals (lead author and second author).
