The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City presided over and coordinated with the City Music Association, the City Youth Union, and the City Television to organize an art program introducing the portrait of music and musician Ton That Lap with the theme "Ton That Lap - Forever resounding songs".

In the late 1960s, when the anti-war movement of students emerged, musician Ton That Lap was one of the typical faces with songs that influenced many generations of young people in the country such as: "Sing for my people", "Sing for the homeland", "Rice rings across the fields", "Going down the street", "Waiting for people", "Singing in prison", "Rice rings on the fields"... accompanied Saigon students during sleepless nights.

In peacetime, he continued his forte in writing love songs, with many new songs such as " Youth Love Song" , " Tri An echoes of spring" , "Whispering rain" , " Rock, paper, scissors" , " Cute girl" , " Love forever" .

In which, the song "Sing for my people" fully reflects the creative concept of musician Ton That Lap: "The mission of artists is to always choose to stand on the edge of the abyss to see all the pain of human life, of the people in the lowest class. And the mission is to write a verdict to condemn those who have brought them down to the abyss".
