On the afternoon of February 6, the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (C06) of the Ministry of Public Security organized the first national workshop to evaluate scientific and technological solutions of DNA, voice, and iris biometrics to serve the implementation of the Law on Identification.

Speaking at the workshop, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security , said that the Law on Identification has been passed by the National Assembly and will take effect from July 1; including new regulations related to adding biometric information of DNA, iris, and voice to the identification database. The process of deploying 3 systems including the population database; the system of producing and issuing CCCDs and the electronic authentication identification system has taken basic, correct and appropriate steps in line with the practical situation in the country as well as internationally. "The deployment of technological utilities for people is carried out synchronously and consistently with applications, biometric authentication, chip utilities on ID cards, and electronic identification, which has been successful in reducing and shortening administrative procedures and is friendly to the people," said Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc.
