Vietnam sends condolences over terrorist attack in Russia

On March 23, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan sent a message of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin after the terrorist attack on the evening of March 22 that killed 143 people and injured many others.

Earlier, a group of gunmen believed to be from the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization opened fire on civilians in the lobby of the Crocus City Hall shopping center in Moscow. They then stormed into the concert hall right before a performance by the rock band Pinic.

According to Reuters, the death toll from the shooting so far is 143 people. At the same time as the shooting, an explosion occurred in the shopping center building, causing a fire. The Moscow Region Emergency Department said about a third of the Crocus City Hall shopping center was engulfed in flames. The roof of the building was almost completely burned down and partially collapsed.

Russia recently arrested 11 people, including four gunmen suspected of being involved in this attack.
