According to a report from the Khanh Hoa Food Safety and Hygiene Department, the inspection team identified three street food establishments on the sidewalk at 32 Han Thuyen, Xuong Huan Ward (Nha Trang City), in front of Nguyen Van Troi High School, related to the hospitalization of many students with symptoms of poisoning.
After working with the students, the inspection team determined that 12/12 students with food poisoning bought food from Ms. Duong Thi Hoang Oanh (46 years old, resident of Van Thang ward, Nha Trang city), but not from the other two people. Therefore, the investigation team determined that the cause of food poisoning was Ms. Oanh's establishment.

Through the test results of the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute on April 9 for samples taken at Ms. Oanh's facility: Samples of the surface of the egg sauce container detected Salmonella spp and Escherichia coli bacteria;
Surface samples of fried chicken containers detected Salmonella spp and Escherichia coli bacteria.
Test results of patient specimens determined that 1/7 samples were positive for Salmonella spp.
Because we could not take food samples from the causative meal, we could only take samples of the surface of the food container from March 31; the sampling time was 2 days after the food poisoning occurred, so we cannot use this test result as a basis to evaluate and find the cause of the food poisoning.
From the above results, authorities determined that 11/12 cases (accounting for 92%) had an incubation period of 6-24 hours, consistent with the incubation period of bacteria.
The cases had the main clinical symptoms of abdominal pain, loose stools, fever, vomiting; diagnosed with intestinal infection, acute gastroenteritis, digestive infection, food poisoning caused by bacteria. Therefore, the agent causing the poisoning is suspected to be microorganisms.
Public disclosure of food poisoning facilities
The Khanh Hoa Province Food Safety and Hygiene Department also recommended that the Nha Trang City People's Committee direct the handling of administrative violations against establishments causing food poisoning; and publicize them on mass media so that people know.
At the same time, the Department of Education and Training of Khanh Hoa province is requested to direct schools to propagate to parents and remind their children to absolutely not buy or eat snacks from street vendors in school areas; not to use food of unknown origin...
