According to Tien Phong reporter, in many flower fields in Me Linh commune (Me Linh district, Hanoi), farmers are rushing to harvest roses to supply the market in time for the March 8 holiday.

Roses are grown year-round by Me Linh people for decoration and gift giving.

From dawn, farmers in Me Linh flower village have been rushing down to the fields to harvest.

Each bouquet of roses is meticulously cut right in the field.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich - a long-time rose grower here said that this year the price of flowers is somewhat higher than last year, averaging 5,000 - 7,000 VND/flower. "My family has 2 sao of roses, thanks to the beautiful designs and even blooming, so they were all ordered early by traders."

"On March 8, people's demand for flowers also increased, so we had to harvest early to supply the market in time," Ms. Bich added.

After being cut, the rose bouquets are neatly arranged right in the field.

The roses after being bud covered to let the flowers develop in shape, making the flowers more beautiful.

Not far away, Mr. Son's family with more than 3 hectares of roses is also busy harvesting. Mr. Son said: "This year the weather is quite favorable, the flowers bloom beautifully, there are few pests and diseases. The price of flowers is also higher than last year, so people are very excited. Currently, my family has to mobilize more people to cut and pack the goods to deliver to traders on time."

After being harvested, the rose bouquets are carefully loaded onto trucks and taken home to be sorted and prepared for sale on the market.

Not only traditional roses, Me Linh farmers also grow many new rose varieties such as egg roses, sister roses... with diverse designs to meet market demand.

Me Linh flower village is one of the largest and most famous flower growing areas in Hanoi, specializing in providing a variety of flowers for the capital market as well as many neighboring provinces.
