Ia Hrung commune was established on the basis of merging 4 communes Ia Yok, Ia Sao, Ia Der and Ia Hrung with a total area of 169.15 km2. The whole commune has 41 hamlets and villages (of which, there are 23 ethnic minority villages); the total population of the commune is over 37,200 people, the proportion of ethnic minorities accounts for 49.12%. The whole commune has 8,503 households, of which, there are 387 poor households (accounting for 4.55%) and 669 near-poor households (accounting for 7.87%).
The commune has been identified by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee as one of the driving forces for socio -economic development, with many potentials and advantages in attracting investment projects in the fields of high-tech agriculture, tourism, renewable energy, etc. Currently, there are 5 key investment projects in the area: golf course, resort, industrial cluster, cultural eco-tourism area, pine hill resort.
At the working session, after listening to the leaders of the Commune People's Committee report on the operation of the organizational apparatus, the assignment and arrangement of cadres, civil servants and public employees after the merger; the activities of the Public Administration Service Center, the difficulties and problems after the merger, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang praised and highly appreciated Ia Hrung commune in the preparation work as well as the implementation of the 2-level local government model in the conditions of many tasks, large workload, and very urgent time.
Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the coming time: Ia Hrung Commune should continue to exploit the potential for investment attraction, quickly remove obstacles for projects being implemented in the commune, especially site clearance. Ia Hrung Commune has advantages in agricultural development, especially long-term industrial crops. Accordingly, the province will have directions to support agriculture to develop stably and sustainably in both production and consumption.
Ia Hrung Commune also needs to review all socio-economic indicators of the commune to have solutions to complete in the last months of the year, continue to propose solutions to reduce poverty, do a good job of mass mobilization, ensure security and order in the commune. At the same time, urgently complete the contents, build socio-economic indicators to include in the documents serving the upcoming Party Congress of the commune for the term 2025-2030.
On this occasion, comrade Lam Hai Giang presented gifts from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to the People's Committee and units of Ia Hrung commune.
