Last July, Xiaomi officially launched the Xiaomi MIX Flip smartphone - the company's first vertical folding screen phone. After receiving positive feedback from users, the company continued to develop the successor version of the Xiaomi MIX Flip.
Recently, leaker Digital Chat Station revealed that Xiaomi MIX Fip 2 will launch in the first half of 2025. This leaker also said: strong sales of the first-generation model have prompted Xiaomi to bring impressive upgrades to the next generation.
If the MIX Flip is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, then Leaker Digital Chat Station revealed that the successor model will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This may be the only vertical folding screen smartphone equipped with this chip, after launching the phone can compete directly with the Z Flip7.
Another post by this leaker on Weibo shared: MIX Flip 2 will be equipped with wireless charging, a feature that was not available in the first generation. The device is expected to have an IPX8 rating for water resistance, and a thinner and more flexible body than its predecessor.
In August, the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 was spotted in the GSMA IMEI database with model numbers 2505APX7BC and 2505APX7BG. Although there is no device name in the IMEI database, it is speculated that these model numbers correspond to the Chinese and global versions of the MIX Flip 2.
