BAC GIANG - The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province has just issued an official dispatch requesting departments, agencies, units and localities to strengthen prevention, detection and handling of cases of transporting and trading of smuggled livestock breeds and livestock breed products of unknown origin.

Specifically, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to direct the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns to organize statistics on local livestock herds and monitor livestock herd fluctuations to detect abnormalities related to the legalization of smuggled livestock breeds.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with relevant sectors to continue effectively implementing the Prime Minister's directives on continuing to promote the peak of the fight against, preventing and repelling smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights.

Plan, allocate funds, organize inspections and checks of breeding production and trading establishments; strictly handle violations according to the provisions of law. Coordinate with districts, towns and cities to carry out statistics and monitor livestock herd fluctuations to detect abnormalities related to the legalization of smuggled livestock breeds.

Direct the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to coordinate with the Mobile Interdisciplinary Inspection Team for Animal Disease Prevention and Control, Steering Committee 389, and the Provincial Police to strengthen inspection of animal transportation and trading in the province according to the provisions of law.

The Provincial Steering Committee 389 and the Department of Industry and Trade proactively monitor and grasp the business and trade situation of animals and animal products; coordinate with specialized veterinary agencies and localities to organize patrol and control forces, promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle acts of smuggling and illegal transportation of animals and animal products in the province.

The provincial police directed functional forces to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and localities to prevent and strictly handle subjects illegally transporting and trading animals and animal products of unknown origin.
