On July 14, patient DCT (born in 2008, residing in Hai Thanh village, Song Tri ward) showed symptoms of high fever over 38 degrees Celsius accompanied by severe headache, loss of appetite, muscle pain, joint pain, and pain in both eye sockets. The patient went to Ky Loi Medical Station for examination and prescription. On July 16, the patient was tested for dengue fever by medical staff and the result was positive for NS1Ag.
After a case of dengue fever was reported, leaders of the Ha Tinh CDC and specialized departments were present at the site, coordinating with the Hoanh Son Medical Center and local authorities to urgently deploy epidemic prevention and control measures to prevent the disease from spreading widely. At the same time, they investigated suspected cases of dengue fever and performed rapid tests.
Through rapid testing, two more cases were found positive for dengue fever and two cases with fever and suspected symptoms of the disease.
After conducting a field inspection in Hai Thanh village (Song Tri ward), Director of the Provincial CDC Nguyen Chi Thanh requested the Medical Center and local authorities to step up propaganda on disease prevention and control measures on the loudspeaker system; strengthen monitoring, requesting suspected cases to immediately go to medical facilities for timely monitoring and treatment; closely monitor households around the patient's house, organize a campaign to mobilize people to clean the environment, kill mosquito larvae to prevent disease...
Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has recorded 19 isolated cases of dengue fever and 1 outbreak in Hai Thanh village.
