On August 23, according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), during the week (from August 15 to 22), the entire city recorded 145 cases of dengue fever in 59 wards and communes, an increase of 26 cases compared to the previous week.
Therefore, Hanoi CDC is strengthening supervision of investigation and treatment in high-risk areas and dengue fever outbreaks.
Over the past week, Hanoi CDC has closely coordinated with relevant units to closely monitor the epidemic situation, promptly detect cases of the disease to organize investigations, containment, and treatment of the epidemic, recording 6 dengue fever outbreaks in Lien Minh, Tuong Mai, Hai Ba Trung, Chuyen My, My Duc, and Ha Dong.
Working groups of the Hanoi CDC have supervised the investigation and handling of dengue fever outbreaks in high-risk areas and outbreaks in hamlet 2 Khanh Ha, Thuong Tin (2 patients), Van Giang village, My Duc (30 patients), Thuy Phu village, Chuyen My (2 patients)...
Of the 145 cases of dengue fever recorded this week, My Duc had 16 cases, Lien Minh had 10 cases... Hanoi CDC assessed that the number of cases is on the rise, recording a number of outbreaks with many patients, complicated developments, and the results of monitoring the outbreaks show insect indexes at a high risk level. It is predicted that the number of cases may continue to increase according to the annual epidemic cycle.
Hanoi CDC believes that in the coming time, some epidemics in the city may increase due to complicated weather conditions and increased travel when people from other provinces and cities and tourists come to the city in late August and early September, during major events and holidays in the area.
Next week, Hanoi CDC will continue to monitor the active dengue outbreak areas in: My Duc, Hai Ba Trung, Tuong Mai, Dan Hoa...
Hanoi CDC requires ward and commune health stations to deploy plans to ensure environmental sanitation to prevent epidemics in the area, especially in areas where activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 take place.
Relevant units should strengthen monitoring and detection of patients at decentralized medical facilities, on software systems and in the community, especially dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease, to promptly investigate and handle cases and outbreaks, and prevent the disease from spreading.
Medical facilities in the area organize timely and effective treatment of areas with patients, outbreaks of dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, especially in areas with many patients; Regularly monitor indicators of larvae and mosquitoes transmitting dengue fever in areas with cases, old outbreaks, and high-risk areas, thereby deploying timely response activities./.
