Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien said that in the first 9 months of 2025, the industry faced many difficulties and challenges at home and abroad. In particular, natural disasters caused heavy damage. In September alone, our country suffered three major storms, including storm No. 10 with very strong destructive power.
In that context, the Government, especially the Prime Minister, has given very strong and timely direction. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and localities have also been proactive and flexible in management, thanks to which the industry has achieved very encouraging results in the first 9 months of the year.

In September alone, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products is estimated at 6.35 billion USD, up 11.8% over the same period in 2024. In the first 9 months, the total export turnover of the whole industry reached 52.31 billion USD, up 14%.

The average export price of coffee reached 5,658 USD/ton, 45% higher than the same period. Rubber reached 1.3 million tons with 2.32 billion USD, keeping the same output but increasing 10.8% in value thanks to the average export price increasing 10.9%.
Rice – one of the main commodities – had mixed developments. Export volume in the first 9 months reached 7 million tons, almost unchanged compared to the same period, but the value decreased by 18.5% to 3.55 billion USD. The main reason was that the average export price decreased by 18.6%, to about 509 USD/ton.
In contrast, fruit and vegetable exports reached 6.22 billion USD, up 10.3%; cashew nuts reached 552 thousand tons and 3.75 billion USD, up nearly 19% in value. By region, Asia is the largest export market with a market share of 43.9%. The next two largest markets are the Americas and Europe with market shares of 23% and 14.2%, respectively.
In terms of detailed markets, the US with a market share of 20.6%, China 20%, and Japan 7.1% are the three largest export markets.
