Overcoming many challenges from the international market, Vietnam's wood and wood product exports are gradually regaining positive growth momentum in the last months of 2025. As of September, the country's wood export turnover had reached about 12 billion USD. Currently, businesses in the industry are accelerating production to complete the export target of 18 billion USD this year.

At AA Architecture Construction Company, wood export shipments are still being completed continuously. The company said that at the end of the year, it is often under pressure from orders focused on the US market. However, some new directions have been opened to reduce dependence and expand market share.

"Currently, the US has a reciprocal tax on Vietnam of 20%, which is actually not higher than other neighboring countries, but Vietnam is currently one of the very few countries with a complete supply chain. Therefore, buyers still choose Vietnam as a destination for large purchases," said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh - Chairman of AA Construction and Architecture Company.

Not only businesses, but also experts believe that there is still a lot of room for growth. To reach the 18 billion USD mark, the wood industry needs to accelerate production, restructure its segments and improve its competitiveness in the global supply chain.

Mr. Nguyen Chanh Phuong - Vice President of the Handicraft and Wood Processing Association of Ho Chi Minh City said: "When entering the world market, each country chooses a segment for itself, along with technological innovation. That requires businesses to open up new skills, re-select market segments...".

Despite many difficulties, wood exports have maintained a stable recovery. The target of 18 billion USD is not only a turnover figure, but also a step to affirm Vietnam's position on the global wood supply map. This will be an important resource contributing to Vietnam's export growth and trade balance in 2025.
