Request to suspend the principal who arbitrarily transferred schools before the new school year

On August 29, the leader of the People's Committee of Vinh Thuan district ( Kien Giang province) said that they were implementing the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee regarding the principal of Thi Tran Secondary School arbitrarily moving the facilities of Thi Tran Secondary School to Vinh Thuan Town Primary and Secondary School (old) without the opinion of the District People's Committee.

Accordingly, the Standing Committee of Vinh Thuan District Party Committee agreed to stop the transfer of Town Secondary School (transfer of cadres, civil servants, teachers, staff, students and facilities) in Vinh Dong 1 quarter, Vinh Thuan town to Vinh Thuan Town Primary and Secondary School (old) in Vinh Phuoc 2 quarter, Vinh Thuan town.

The reason is that the recent implementation process was not in accordance with procedures, preparation time was not guaranteed and there was no opinion from the District People's Committee, causing negative public opinion and low consensus among staff, teachers, and parents.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the Town Secondary School will open and teach and learn at the Town Secondary School. The District People's Committee directed the Department of Education and Training and the leaders of the Town Secondary School to urgently prepare cleaning conditions, arrange classrooms and facilities, equipment, and ensure safety for students to study and serve the opening of the 2024-2025 school year.

In addition, the Standing Committee of Vinh Thuan District Party Committee assigned the District People's Committee to suspend Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Principal of Thi Tran Secondary School. Urgently conduct an inspection of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong's responsibilities and have specific conclusions. If there are any violations, handle them according to current regulations.

Previously, local public opinion was stirred by the news that Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Principal of Thi Tran Secondary School arbitrarily moved the school's facilities to Vinh Thuan Town Primary and Secondary School (old).

On August 23, the People's Committee of Vinh Thuan district held a press conference to inform about the above incident. At the press conference, the leader of the People's Committee of Vinh Thuan district also affirmed that the school transfer was based on the policy of the District Party Committee and the direction of the District People's Committee. However, the principal's arbitrarily transferring the facilities without official direction from the District People's Committee is not in accordance with regulations.
