110 overseas Vietnamese youth delegates attend the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 program

Press conference to inform about new policies of the Party and State related to overseas Vietnamese and the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 program

Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Trung Kien said that the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Vietnamese Nationality, which was recently passed by the National Assembly , has “loosened” the regulations for acquiring and regaining Vietnamese nationality, while retaining foreign nationality. This amendment has removed barriers, creating favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to return to their homeland.

In addition, the Law on Science , Technology and Innovation, which has just been passed by the National Assembly, is also expected to create a favorable mechanism to attract resources from overseas experts and intellectuals in the fields of science, technology, innovation and creativity, contributing to the country's development.

In the coming time, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will closely coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to research, disseminate and concretize the contents of the law to soon put it into practice; at the same time, coordinate to review with other laws and legal documents to ensure synchronization and consistency in implementation.

Regarding the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025, organized annually by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese for Vietnamese youth and students abroad, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien said that this year's theme will be "Together we continue to write the story of peace ".

The summer camp will take place from July 13 to 26 in localities across the three regions of the North, Central and South. It is expected that 110 delegates from 31 countries and territories will participate. These are overseas Vietnamese youth with outstanding achievements in studying, sports, and active participation in youth and community movements.

The opening ceremony of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 will take place in Dak Lak. The program will include traditional education activities such as visiting Cu Chi Tunnels, the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs in Quang Tri; charity activities, supporting ethnic minorities in some Central Highlands provinces, exchange programs, and learning about gong culture.

In particular, the Vietnam Summer Camp delegation will have an exchange program with officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, Ministry of National Defense. This is also a meaningful activity, closely linked to the theme "Together to continue the story of peace" of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 program.
