3 dead, 1 injured

Speaking to Thanh Nien , a representative of Ngo Quyen District said that the Swing bar fire killed three female employees and injured one female employee. The injured person is being treated at the Viet-Tiep Friendship Hospital ( Hai Phong City) after jumping from the upper floor of a four-story building to the ground. The remaining three employees were trapped inside the fire and later died. The victims resided in Hai An, Duong Kinh and Kien Thuy districts (Hai Phong City).

The fire is believed to have started on the first floor of the bar.

To identify the victim, investigators must take samples for DNA testing.

In the immediate future, the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District will allocate 5 million VND to support the families of injured victims and 10 million VND to support the families of deceased victims.

Previously, according to witnesses at the scene, at around 2:00 p.m. on May 12, a fire suddenly broke out on the first floor of a four-story house at 144 Van Cao, which had been converted into a bar.

The column of smoke from the fire rose high, covering a whole area.

At the time of the fire, there were four female employees inside the restaurant. Since the house had no stairs or emergency exit, after the fire and smoke engulfed the first floor, the female employees ran to the second and third floors to call for help. One of them jumped from the upper floor to the ground and was injured but luckily escaped; the other three were trapped in the fire.

Firefighters spray water to put out the fire

After receiving the news, the Fire Police Team of Ngo Quyen District Police deployed forces and vehicles to the scene to put out the fire.

By 4:30 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically under control. However, three female employees were found dead.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
