60 Covid-19 patients are breathing oxygen through masks

According to the Ministry of Health 's announcement on the Covid-19 epidemic, today, May 18, the country recorded 1,927 more Covid-19 cases.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has had 11.598 million cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. With a rate of 117,212 Covid-19 cases per million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories.

Today, May 18, the country recorded 1,927 more Covid-19 cases

Health departments reported that on August 17, 469 patients recovered, and the country recorded no deaths due to Covid-19. Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 10.634 million Covid-19 cases in Vietnam have been cured.

At the treatment facilities, 67 patients are on oxygen. Of these, 60 cases are on oxygen through masks, 3 cases are on high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), 2 cases are on non-invasive ventilation, and 2 cases are on invasive ventilation.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, the country has recorded 43,201 deaths, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths in Vietnam ranks 26th out of 231 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories.

Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths in our country ranks 7th out of 50 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 29th out of 50 countries and territories.

Regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, the Ministry of Health said that on May 17, 1,827 more doses were injected in localities. Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, more than 266.343 million doses of vaccine have been injected nationwide.

Of these, more than 223.69 million doses were given to people aged 18 and over, nearly 24 million doses were given to people aged 12-17, and more than 18.68 million doses were given to people aged 5-11.
