Towards building a strong Pediatric network

On October 8, in Hanoi, Hanoi Children's Hospital (Hanoi Department of Health) held the launching ceremony of the Hanoi Pediatrics Association and the 1st anniversary of the hospital's establishment.

Hanoi Pediatric Association is a scientific forum connecting doctors, scientists and experts in the field of pediatrics in the capital and the whole country, contributing to promoting cooperation, research and improving the quality of child health care.

According to Director of Hanoi Children's Hospital, Chairman of Hanoi Pediatrics Association Ngo Quang Hung: Currently, Hanoi Children's Hospital has more than 400 cadres, civil servants, and medical staff; including 24 departments, rooms and 4 units, with full specialties serving the needs of medical examination, treatment and disease prevention for children of all ages.

With the efforts of the leadership, staff, doctors, nurses, employees, and workers, over the past year, the hospital has continuously improved the quality of medical examination and treatment for people in the city. Up to now, the hospital has received more than 200,000 pediatric outpatients; more than 14,000 inpatients, with a regular bed occupancy rate of more than 100%. The hospital has treated and managed many chronic and complicated diseases; successfully deployed advanced techniques in anesthesia, resuscitation, neonatology, surgery, internal medicine, etc. to bring the best treatment opportunities for children.

In addition to professional work, the hospital has focused on promoting digital transformation in all activities such as automatic medical examination and treatment registration, cashless payment, electronic medical record deployment, human resource management software, etc., with the goal of building a smart hospital model in the future. The hospital has also cooperated with 14 universities, colleges, domestic medical facilities and international partners and medical organizations from countries around the world such as the US, Australia, Japan, Taiwan (China) in training and transferring advanced techniques in the treatment and care of pediatric patients.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the Hanoi Pediatric Association, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Health Nguyen Dinh Hung said: Implementing Resolution 20-NQ/TW of the Central Committee on "Strengthening the work of protecting, caring for and improving people's health in the new situation", the Hanoi health sector has identified the goal of developing a comprehensive, modern, equitable and internationally integrated health system. In particular, Pediatrics is considered one of the key areas, aiming to build a strong pediatric network, connecting from the Central to the grassroots, with Hanoi Children's Hospital and the Hanoi Pediatric Association as the core forces.

This is both an urgent and challenging task, requiring a team of highly qualified and skilled experts capable of implementing advanced techniques in examining and treating children; and at the same time transferring appropriate technology to lower levels, from hospitals to grassroots health stations. In particular, the Hanoi health sector will focus on developing preventive medicine and school health care, aiming at the comprehensive physical and mental development of the capital's children.

In order for the Hanoi Pediatric Association to perform well its assigned functions and tasks, Deputy Director in charge Nguyen Dinh Hung suggested that the Hanoi Pediatric Association should closely coordinate with the Vietnam Pediatric Association, the National Children's Hospital (Ministry of Health) and the pediatric system nationwide to strengthen training, update knowledge, conduct clinical research and develop standard treatment regimens for pediatric doctors and medical staff at treatment facilities in the city.

At the same time, coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Health and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training in implementing the school health program, screening and periodic health consultation for more than two million students in the area..., this is a task of strategic significance for the health of the young generation of the capital and the country.

On this occasion, the Hanoi People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to groups and individuals from the National Children's Hospital and Hanoi Children's Hospital.
