" Hanoi Children's Hospital will expand its scale to 1,000 beds, meeting the treatment needs of children in Hanoi and neighboring provinces." This is the information given by Dr. Ngo Quang Hung, Director of Hanoi Children's Hospital, at the 1st anniversary celebration and pediatrics scientific conference organized by Hanoi Children's Hospital on October 8.

In the first year of operation (from October 2024), Hanoi Children's Hospital has applied many new and advanced techniques in diagnosis and treatment, including endoscopic surgery to treat difficult cases for young children; performing specialized tests in diagnosing and treating difficult diseases. The hospital promotes digital transformation in all activities such as automatic medical examination and treatment registration, cashless payment, implementation of electronic medical records, human resource management software... towards building a smart hospital model.
In particular, the system of data stored in the electronic medical record throughout the process helps the hospital evaluate disease patterns and promptly arrange human resources, equipment, and medicine for treatment.
Currently, Hanoi Children's Hospital has 200 beds, 28 departments, rooms and units, with full specialties serving the needs of medical examination, treatment and disease prevention for children of all ages; has received over 14,000 inpatient cases, with a regular bed occupancy rate of over 100%.
"In the first year, Hanoi Children's Hospital has served hundreds of thousands of children; treated and managed many chronic and complicated diseases. Hanoi Children's Hospital will continue to build a team of experts and high-quality human resources, continue to promote digital transformation, including the application of AI in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric diseases, and be the leading pediatric unit in the capital," said Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Health .
At the ceremony, the Hanoi People's Committee also awarded certificates of merit to the collective and individuals of the National Children's Hospital and Hanoi Children's Hospital. On this occasion, the Hanoi Pediatric Association was officially launched, with Dr. Ngo Quang Hung as Chairman.
