In 8 months, total investment capital in Can Tho is more than 13,181 billion VND

On August 30, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City held a meeting to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).

Speaking to recall the heroic atmosphere of the nation, Mr. Duong Tan Hien - Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the victory of the August Revolution was the crystallization of the tradition of steadfast and indomitable struggle of the Vietnamese people for thousands of years against foreign invaders. This was also a victory of patriotism and the strength of great national unity under the leadership of the Party.

For that reason, Can Tho is determined to unite and strive to successfully carry out the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country and build and develop the city sustainably.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee informed that over the past 8 months, the socio -economic situation of Can Tho continued to remain stable. Total investment capital in the area is estimated at over 13,181 billion VND, an increase of 7.77% over the same period last year.

Trade and service activities continued to grow, with total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue estimated at over VND75,930 billion. Tourism continued to recover, with the total number of visitors and tourists to the city reaching 3.73 million, total revenue from tourism reaching VND3,321 billion... The cultural and social sectors have always received attention and focus.

"In the coming time, the city will continue to synchronously carry out the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security, Party building, and political system building in the spirit of Resolution No. 59 of the Politburo, determined to successfully carry out key tasks.

Can Tho will promote all resources, potentials and advantages, strive to build and develop Can Tho into a central city of the region, an ecological, civilized and modern city, imbued with the identity of the Mekong Delta river region, contributing more and more to the common achievements of the whole country" - Mr. Duong Tan Hien emphasized.
