Alcaraz wins Japan Open, Sinner meets Learner Tien in China Open final

(Dan Tri) - Carlos Alcaraz won the Japan Open 2025 after defeating Taylor Fritz in the final, Jannik Sinner defeated Alex De Minaur to advance to the China Open 2025 final to meet Vietnamese-American player Learner Tien.

In the final match of the Japan Open 2025 held in Japan on the afternoon of September 30, Carlos Alcaraz faced Taylor Fritz, a match between the two top seeds of the tournament. Taylor Fritz started better, but Alcaraz wasted no time in regaining the game and dominated, ending the first set with a 6-4 victory.

Then, Fritz tried to reduce the score to 4-5, but Alcaraz had a delicate drop shot in game 10, closing the set with a 6-4 victory. Defeating Fritz, Alcaraz convincingly won the Japan Open 2025.

In the semi-finals of the ATP 500 China Open 2025 taking place in China on the afternoon of September 30, Jannik Sinner faced Alex De Minaur and quickly showed his superiority. Sinner played coolly, did not lose a break in set 1 and in game 6, he broke De Minaur's serve, winning 6-3 in just 40 minutes.

In set 2, De Minaur played with great effort, continuously drawing points with Sinner and winning the decisive break point in game 10, before winning 6-4.

In the decisive third set, De Minaur was a bit exhausted, the Italian player accelerated and won 6-3. Defeating his Australian opponent after 3 tense sets, Sinner will face Vietnamese-American player Learner Tien in the final of Japan Open 2025 at 1:00 p.m. on October 1.

In the previous semi-final, Daniil Medvedev beat Learner Tien 7-5 in set 1. In set 2, the Russian player continuously made mistakes and Learner Tien successfully took advantage to break his opponent's serve, before winning 7-5.

In the third set, Medvedev hurt his leg, he lost his composure and continuously argued with the referee. When Learner Tien led 4-0, Medvedev decided to retire and Learner Tien advanced to the final to meet Sinner. Previously, in the quarterfinals of the China Open 2025, the Vietnamese-American player defeated Lorenzo Musetti when his opponent retired.
