Facing Brandon Nakashima in the quarterfinals of the Japan Open 2025, Carlos Alcaraz showed his superiority when he took a break-point in the opening serve game of the first set. Nakashima continued to lose strength as he played and accepted a 2-6 loss in this set.

In the second set, the Spaniard played more and more well while Nakashima lost his composure. Alcaraz got a break-point in game 5, maintained his dominance and closed the second set with a 6-4 victory.
Defeating American player Nakashima after more than 80 minutes of competition, Alcaraz advanced to the semi-finals of the Japan Open 2025. Alcaraz's next opponent is No. 4 seed Casper Ruud, who won 6-3, 6-2 against Vukic in the quarter-finals.
In the other two quarter-final matches, Brooksby surprised third seed Holger Rune with a score of 6-3, 6-3. Second seed Taylor Fritz had to overcome compatriot Korda in three sets with a score of 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. Taylor Fritz will face Brooksby in the remaining semi-final match.
The Japan Open 2025 semi-finals will take place on September 29, with Alcaraz facing Casper Ruud at 4pm and Taylor Fritz meeting Brooksby at 2pm.
